As a consumer focused VC fund we strongly believe that consumer brands require a differentiated approach to business building.
Over the past few months, we had the privilege of collaborating with Bain & Company to build out a playbook for consumer founders, providing guidance on how to build brands that are not only profitable but also capital-efficient.
After conducting extensive research on the Indian market, which involved evaluating ~150 Indian consumer insurgent brands and surveying ~1000 Millennial and Gen Z consumers, we are thrilled to unveil our latest report: 'Game-Changers: The Insurgent Consumer Brands Playbook'.
Through this report, we distill the key insights from the journeys of successful insurgent brands, identifying the drivers that have propelled their growth and profitability. Moreover, we closely examine the new age Indian consumer, spotlighting emerging consumer themes and archetypes that founders can tap into. By leveraging these themes, brands can strategically position themselves for future scalability and success.
2 Promotions and a New Hire to Strengthen our Leadership Team
We’re thrilled to announce the promotions of Hariharan Premkumar to Managing Director and Pooja Shirali to Vice President. Over the last 5 years, Hari and Pooja have made significant contributions internally at the firm and cultivated deep roots within the consumer ecosystem in India.
We’re also delighted to welcome Anushka Bharvani full-time as Vice President (Marketing, Branding and Consumer Insights). Anushka will play an important role in our portfolio support team for the companies we have invested in across India and Southeast Asia since 2013.
